March 2013 - The International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) is proud to announce Kerri Pottharst, Olympic Gold Medallist and one of Australia’s well-loved athletes, as its new brand ambassador for the college’s Sport Management Faculty.
In her new role as ambassador, Pottharst will represent the college at sporting events, awards ceremonies and similar functions. A triple Olympian with two Olympic medals to her name, the former beach volleyballer will work to inspire students to work hard to reach their goals through guest lectures and motivational speeches and prize giving occasions.
“I have always been passionate about empowering young people to reach their potential, no matter what their background, so I am excited to join the ICMS team as their Sports Ambassador,” commented Kerri Pottharst. “I am eager to begin my new role at the heart of the faculty as my 20+ years as an elite athlete have taught me the importance of sports management for any athlete and I have been looking for new outlets to focus my passions in this area and ICMS was top of my list.”
A leading name in the sports industry, Pottharst had a strong relationship with the college over many years especially since moving to the Northern Beaches in 1996.
“Kerri is one of Australia's most well-known and well-loved athletes so we are both proud and excited to announce our partnership! Kerri has been a fantastic ambassador for Australia for many years, so we hope that she will not only inspire current students but also prospective graduates and undergraduates, thinking about a career in sports management,” commented Dr Mike Berrell, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Operations at ICMS.
Sports management is one of the most popular business courses at ICMS, offered as a three year Bachelor program combining practical industry experience with class room learning and access to high-profile sporting associations, managers and athletes such as Pottharst.
“I have a son and I feel, now more than ever, that it is important to provide guidance to young people and sport is a great way to do this. The Sports Management course at ICMS is a great program attended by a lot of very talented students and I am thrilled to become part of their learning experience,” adds Pottharst.
“By becoming a champion and staying at the top of her field for over 20 years, Kerri fits fantastically into our college ethos and we’re thinking of replicating this across all of our programs.” concludes Mike Berrell. “Having high profile representatives such as Kerri is a great way to motivate new and existing students to reach their potential and become leaders of the future.”
2013 – Current Three-time Olympian endorses natural solution for muscle aches and pains
Three-time Olympic beach volleyballer and Sydney 2000 Gold medallist, Kerri Pottharst, understands the importance of using an effective and readily-accessible treatment.
Having sustained numerous injuries throughout her 22 year-long professional volleyball career, Kerri is an advocate for all things natural.
“While I’ve endured six knee surgeries, I’ve also experienced many less serious injuries common to weekend warriors, including muscle soreness, stiffness and inflammation.
“I understand the importance of relieving aches and pains with an effective, topical solution, and prefer to use products containing natural ingredients that are available from outlets where I am reassured of their quality and effectiveness, such as a pharmacy, health store or health professional,” said Kerri.
“That’s why I use FisiocremSOLUGEL for effective and gentle relief from muscle aches and pains.”
